If you are a AOA member, we strongly encourage you to inspect the vehicles in person before bidding. Although Copart provides 10 high-quality images and general descriptions for each vehicle, all information provided is for reference only. By visiting a AOA parking lot in person, you can be sure that you are bidding on the vehicle you need. If you are unable to inspect a vehicle in person, American Of Automible provides an inspection service that will inspect vehicles for you.
If you've won a prize, your invoice will include: **Lot price (the price at which the lot was sold during the action) **Taxes (depending on the state and type of vehicle title) **Auction fees (may include live auction fees, processing fees, storage fees, etc.). ****Check your bank's charges when paying by bank transfer. ****International shipping is paid separately after you have paid the invoice for the IN COMPLETE lot.
If you win a lot and do not finalize the purchase (meaning the lot is not paid in full within 8 calendar days, including the day of the sale), the lot will be reoffered for sale. The resale fee will be 10% of the final sale price OR $600, whichever is greater. If you have already paid AOA, please contact us directly.
If you have uploaded all the necessary documents (government-issued ID or business licenses) and paid for your subscription (Basic or Premier), please allow 1-3 business days for the documents to be processed. You will be notified by e-mail when your account becomes active and you can bid. * Basic membership gives you limited purchasing power to bid on vehicles up to $2,000. To increase your purchasing power (and bid on up to five vehicles at a time), you'll need to add a deposit. Premier membership, which gives you substantial buying power, requires an annual fee and a fully refundable initial deposit. Find out more about membership here. * Once you are a Basic or Premier member, there will be a bidding fee on the lot(s) you win. The most reliable payment option for international buyers is bank transfer, but additional payment methods such as credit are also available. Payment must be received by American Of Automible within 3 working days, including the day of sale. We recommend that international buyers send funds in advance to avoid late payment charges ($50 per vehicle). * If paying by bank transfer, please follow this 2-step payment process to ensure that we locate funds in a timely manner and apply them to anticipated invoices: ** Send the bank transfer following the bank transfer instructions. When sending the bank transfer, mention what you are paying for (deposit, upgrade to Premier or batch payment) to help us apply your funds to the correct category). ** Send wire transfer notification to buyer.ar@copart.com. Please note that payment will be applied to your account ONLY upon receipt of a wire transfer notification from you.
You can arrange international shipment from Copart through any shipping company of your choice, or through our authorized representatives in or near your country. Detailed shipping instructions can be found on our international shipping page.
AOA offers three types of membership to meet the unique needs of our buyers. ** Guest membership (FREE): ideal for people new to AOA who simply want to browse the online inventory and create a watch list to keep an eye on specific vehicles that interest them. *** Basic membership (99 USD per year): ideal for individual buyers who can only bid on and purchase a few vehicles each year. This plan comes with limited buying power, which can be increased with additional deposits. Your registered deposit with Copart must be 10% of the maximum amount you wish to bid on a vehicle. Example: A bid of $3,500 would require a deposit of $350. *** Premier Membership ($249 USD per year + one-time fully refundable deposit of $400 USD): ideal for individuals and companies who plan to bid on and purchase several vehicles each year. FAQ
How do I pay for my vehicle once I've won?
Payment for purchases can only be made by bank transfer or Western Union. You can, if necessary, refer to our local representatives who will guide you step by step through the payment of your vehicle.
If you are in a situation where you cannot make payment on time, arrange to prepay your vehicle before submitting your offer to avoid daily late payment penalties.
American Of Automible charges a late payment penalty of $299 for all vehicles over $1,000.
A documentation fee of $85 applies to each vehicle purchase. This fee covers the cost of issuing and transferring the vehicle registration document and other documentation related to your vehicle.
The customer must pay the balance due in full no later than 2 working days from notification of confirmation of sale.
Once an offer is accepted by Insurance Auction, we send a sales confirmation notification by e-mail to the customer and update the customer’s invoice on Americanofautomible.com.
Is there a time limit for paying and collecting the vehicle?
Yes, once you have won, you will be informed of the exact time you have to make your payment and collect your vehicle. You generally have 48 hours to make your payment without penalty and 92 hours to collect your vehicle. Penalties apply after this time. Late payment penalties range from $100 to $150 per day late. Storage penalties range from $20 to $50 per day, depending on the auction.

How are you going to send me my vehicle?
We can send your vehicles in RoRo or in the container, it depends on your choice.

Does a vehicle need to be transported by someone or can I pick it up myself?
Yes, you can collect your vehicle yourself as long as it is being transported and not driven on the road.
Can you clear my vehicle through customs once it has been purchased?
No, we do not offer vehicle clearance services yet. We will need to contact your own freight forwarder for this.
Do you accept credit cards?
For deposits – we accept credit cards on our website, and by phone. Also, credit card payments are accepted only for repeat customers (NO FIRST TIME BUYERS!). In all cases, the total credit card payment is limited to $2500 or 10% of the amount of your vehicle. Storage fees incurred by customers with storage companies can always be paid by credit card; the maximum amount accepted for credit card storage fees is $300.
How much does the security deposit cost?
Security deposits are $300.00 or 10% of the auction amount, whichever is greater. The deposit is required to activate your account. Deposits are accepted by bank transfer, credit card or Western Union.
I sent the transfer for the full amount, but my invoice indicates that you received a lower amount. Why did you do this?

How much does it cost to ship a car?
Copart Africa offers an export/transport service for your vehicles. We offer an optimal transportation service at competitive and guaranteed prices. Our service will meet your vehicle transportation needs with registered, insured and fast sea and land transportation companies.
Each listing on copartafrica.com contains an estimate of shipping costs. To know the exact cost of shipping your vehicle, we need more information about its final destination. Thus, we encourage you to call us on WhatsApp or regular call at +1 443 794 5076.
You can also hire a shipper/broker of your choice.
Note: To receive an accurate shipping quote, inform your broker that the vehicle to be transported is INOPERABLE (unless it is explicitly stated on our site that the vehicle “starts and runs”).
If I don't win the auction, will you continue to charge me your fees?
No, with Copart Africa, you never lose, not even 1 cent.
If you don’t win an auction, you will have the possibility to ask for a refund of your deposit or to use it for another future auction.
